Doodles non-fungible token (NFT) project will host a pop-up experience at a new Camp theme park in Chicago as part of its integration into mainstream media and consciousness.
The park will open in a month, mixing Doodles’ pastel-themed NFT ecosystem with Camp’s family experience business.
Theme Park Doodles Latest Project After Funding Round
The new project is a 3,500-square-foot pop-up experience offering families a one-hour Doodles experience. During that hour, they can customize a Doodles character, explore Doodles-themed locations, play games, and engage in crafts.
They can also buy clothing and accessories based on the Doodles aesthetic from the on-site Camp Store. Available merch includes hoodies and backpacks.
The partnership with Camp marks Doodles’ latest foray into bringing Doodles into the mainstream. The NFT company raised $54 million from Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian’s Seven Seven Six venture capital fund for music and TV productions.
The company enlisted award-winning producer Pharrell Williams as its Chief Brand Officer. Later, it was in talks with scriptwriters and studios to create a television show. The project’s CEO, Julian Holguin, is a former Billboard executive.
NFTs Getting Attention From Mainstream Media
NFT collections have garnered interest from mainstream media producers who want to capitalize on the status afforded by a collection’s ownership base.
Hollywood actor Seth Green’s Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT was meant to be the main character in a new TV show called “White Horse Tavern” before it got stolen. The actor later paid the scammer to release the asset.
Universal Music Group enlisted producers last year to create a sound for a Bored Ape-themed rock band Kingship. Meebits, another NFT collection, released music on Spotify last year.

Whether the Doodles project will enlist artificial intelligence to create content suitable for mainstream media remains to be seen. The Recording Academy recently opened award categories to music with AI elements.
All-time sales of the Doodles collection stands at $610 million, but has declined significantly since last year.
