Tether Reports Over $10B in 2025 Profits, Surpassing Most Global Banks
Tether, the issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin USDT, has reported a record-breaking $10 billion profit for the first three quarters of 2025, surpassing the earnings of many traditional global banks.
According to the company’s latest financial disclosure, USDT in circulation has climbed to $183 billion, marking a new all-time high for the stablecoin.
$135 Billion Invested in U.S. Treasuries
Tether revealed that its investments in U.S. government debt have surged to $135 billion, making it the 17th largest holder of U.S. Treasuries — ahead of entire nations like South Korea.
The company’s asset portfolio demonstrates an increasing overlap between crypto and traditional finance, as stablecoins like USDT become deeply intertwined with the global financial system.
Expanding Reserves: Gold and Bitcoin
In addition to government bonds, Tether has diversified its holdings with $12.9 billion in gold and $9.9 billion in Bitcoin, representing nearly 13% of its total reserves.
500 Million Global Users
With an estimated 500 million users worldwide, Tether’s ecosystem continues to expand, particularly across emerging markets where stablecoins offer a lifeline against inflation and banking instability.
Analysts note that Tether’s financial strength and dominance could soon make it one of the most systemically important players in global finance, bridging the gap between fiat currencies and decentralized digital assets.
