Zcash Developers Announce Their Q4 2025 Roadmap
Electric Coin Company (ECC), the team behind Zcash (ZEC), has published its official roadmap for the fourth quarter of 2025. The update emphasizes advanced privacy mechanisms, wallet synchronization improvements, and stronger asset protection.
Ephemeral Transparent Addresses
ECC introduces ephemeral transparent addresses for all ZEC swaps made through NEAR Intents. Each transaction will automatically generate a unique, one-time address via the Zashi wallet. This makes it significantly harder to link multiple transactions to the same user, reinforcing privacy without sacrificing usability.
Automatic Address Rotation
Another key update is automatic address rotation. Each time a wallet receives funds, it will automatically create a new transparent address instead of reusing an old one. This prevents traceability across transactions and improves overall privacy hygiene within the Zcash network.
Zashi and Keystone Integration
The roadmap also brings enhanced interoperability between the Zashi wallet and Keystone hardware wallet. Users will be able to unlink and resync their Keystone devices without losing access to their funds or transaction history, ensuring a smoother and safer experience for those relying on hardware wallets.
Dev Fund Security Enhancements
ECC plans to upgrade the management of the Development Fund by introducing multi-signature protection and integrating Keystone support. This move eliminates single-point access to the fund’s assets and increases the overall resilience of the project’s treasury operations.
Toward a More Secure and Private Ecosystem
The Q4 2025 roadmap demonstrates ECC’s continued commitment to privacy and decentralized security. With these updates, Zcash aims to strengthen its position as one of the most privacy-focused and technically advanced cryptocurrencies in the market.
