Binance Expands Monitoring Tag List
Crypto exchange Binance announced an update to its token risk monitoring system, adding several cryptocurrencies to its Monitoring Tag list following a recent platform review.
The Monitoring Tag is applied to tokens that exhibit higher volatility or elevated risk compared with other listed assets. Tokens carrying this label are subject to increased scrutiny and could face potential delisting if they fail to meet the exchange’s listing standards.
Tokens Added to the Monitoring Tag
According to the announcement, the following tokens will now carry the Monitoring Tag:
• Contentos (COS)
• Dego Finance (DEGO)
• Ampleforth Governance Token (FORTH)
• FUNToken (FUN)
• Hooked Protocol (HOOK)
• Loopring (LRC)
• MOBOX (MBOX)
• Orchid (OXT)
• dogwifhat (WIF)
Tokens with the Monitoring Tag require users to complete a short risk-awareness quiz every 90 days before trading them on Binance’s spot or margin platforms.
Monitoring Tag Removal for FLOW
Binance also confirmed that the Monitoring Tag will be removed from Flow (FLOW).
Removing the tag indicates that the token has met Binance’s review criteria and is no longer considered to carry the same elevated risk classification.
Seed Tag Removed for ONDO and VIRTUAL
In addition, Binance will remove the Seed Tag from two projects:
• Ondo (ONDO)
• Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL)
The Seed Tag typically applies to newer or early-stage projects that may carry higher volatility or development risk.
Removing this designation suggests these tokens have matured enough to meet Binance’s broader listing standards.
How Binance Evaluates Tokens
Binance conducts periodic reviews of listed projects to determine whether risk labels should be applied or removed.
The exchange evaluates multiple factors during these reviews, including:
• commitment of the project team
• development activity and updates
• trading volume and liquidity
• network and smart contract stability
• responsiveness to due diligence requests
• communication with the community
• evidence of unethical behavior or security issues
Projects that fail to meet these standards may eventually face delisting from the platform.
BTCUSA Insight
Risk labeling systems such as Binance’s Monitoring Tag play an increasingly important role in exchange governance.
As the number of listed tokens continues to grow, exchanges are using internal review frameworks to flag projects with higher volatility or operational risks.
For traders, these labels serve as a signal that the affected assets are under closer scrutiny and may face potential listing changes in the future.
